The Smiddy, The Clachan

The Smiddy is in the "Clachan", which is the old village centre of Strachur, just off the main A815 road, behind the petrol station.
If you are in Strachur you will see signs pointing to The Smiddy. Click on MAP
Due to the current Covid 19 situation the Smiddy will be open Saturdays and Sundays only, 1-4pm and for one group at a time. However, the blacksmith works in the smiddy most weekends so you will have the opportunity to see him making fire pokers in the traditional way.
Please remember to wear a mask. Hand sanitiser will be available.

- Watch the selection of films on the Smiddy’s history, how to make a horseshoe and the opening day of the Museum.
- Purchase a souvenir such as a horseshoe, or a locally made gift from the craft shop.You can buy cards, postcards, or photographs with which to remember your visit to Strachur Smiddy Museum
